Larry Meeks is a 59 year old native Californian, living in its capital city of Sacramento for the past 35 years. He primarily expresses his artistic talent through metal (steel, brass, bronze and copper) and indigenous river stone. His two and three dimensional artwork flows from natural settings and many times reaches the edge of surrealism. He believes that art should make a bold statement and evoke the inner emotion of the viewer. His work has won numerous awards, and he has been recognized by art critics and collectors as being a leader in his medium. |
Larry's artwork has been commissioned by both private and public agencies. His art can be found in many corporate offices, churches, and luxury homes across the nation. His commissions range in size from table top sculptures to larger than life artworks weighing thousands of pounds. His artwork is carried by fine art galleries and eagerly collected by discriminating art lovers. Larry is also the former Director of Health Planning and Development for the State of California, a national syndicated columnist, and a college professor. |
